Why is it called Looped?

Because the interesting part is the end. Somebody recommends something, you go try it, and then you tell them it worked. That last step closes the loop, and almost nothing else asks you to do it. Most apps stop at the recommendation and never find out what happened.

What happens if I pass on a topic?

You still get the reveal, you just can't collect from it. Passing keeps your read-only access, so you see every pick your connections made that week. What you lose is saving. A pass is not final either: if something comes to mind on Thursday, you can still answer until the reveal opens.

Can I edit my answer after the reveal opens?

No. You can rewrite your pick as many times as you like during the week, but edits stop the moment the reveal opens. That is enforced in the database, not just in the interface, so nobody can read the room first and then improve their answer to match.

How do I get an invite?

A member hands you one of theirs. Every member gets ten, total, not ten a month, so people spend them slowly. If you don't know anyone yet, leave your email on the waitlist and we'll write when one frees up. Connecting to someone who's already in costs you nothing.

When exactly does the reveal open?

When the next question goes out: Sunday and Wednesday, 8:00 AM Eastern. Your reveal opens the same instant that question lands, so those two mornings are the only thing to check. Answer late and you still unlock that one. There is no second event later on.

Who can see my answers?

Only the people you are connected to, and only after they have put their own answer in. Connections are mutual and private, so no two people see the same reveal. There are no follower counts and no public profiles. The database enforces this, not the interface.

What if I miss a week?

Nothing breaks. There's no streak to lose and no penalty. You just don't see that question's reveal until you put an answer in, and answering late still opens it. Otherwise the next question lands Sunday or Wednesday morning and you carry on as normal.

Does the person find out what I thought of their pick?

Only if it was good and only if you choose to say so. Marking something tried is private by default, and you can tick a box to tell them it landed. There's no way to send the opposite. A thumbs down stays in your library, and nobody is ever told their recommendation missed.

Is Looped a book club app?

No. It's a social recommendation app, and the question changes every week. This week might be a book. Next week it's a recipe, or a show, or the one app you open when you're bored. There's no meeting to schedule and no book everybody has to finish first.

Is this like Nextdoor?

No. Nextdoor puts you in a feed with neighbors you've never met. Looped only ever shows you people you picked, and every connection goes both ways. Nobody gets added because of where you live. Search only reaches as far as your friends' friends, so a stranger can't turn you up. It's a recommendations app for people you already know.

Is Looped invite-only?

Yes, completely. There's no public sign-up, and you won't find Looped by searching an app store. Every member is there because someone already inside spent one of their own invites on them. That's what keeps it a private social network. Not a setting, just how the door works.

Is Looped a BeReal alternative?

Not exactly, but the itch is the same one. BeReal asks for a photo at a random moment. Looped asks two questions a week and shows you only the answers from people you already trust, not strangers. If what you liked about BeReal was less performance and more real people, that part carries over.

How does a week actually run?

Four steps, on one clock for everybody. A question goes out Sunday and Wednesday, you answer any time before the next one, everything opens at once, and then you go and try the good stuff.

One question goes out to the whole network. Something like "the one app you open when you are bored", or "the best thing in your freezer right now". A person writes and approves every topic before it ships. It arrives by email, so there is nothing to scroll.

Any time that week
You answer
Paste a link, add a photo, or just type the thing out. Then write the part that helps: a sentence or two on why you like it. No rush, you have seven days. Not feeling the topic? Pass. You keep read-only access to the reveal, you just cannot save anything. Change your mind later in the week and you can still answer.

The weeks after
You save it, try it, and close the loop
Anything worth keeping goes to your library as "to try". When you get around to it, mark it tried. If it landed, you can tell the person, and they see your note next to your name. If it wasn’t for you, that stays in your library and they are never told. Telling somebody they got it right is the part every other recommendation app skips.

How do you get in?

Connecting with someone who is already a member costs you nothing. Send a request, they accept with one tap, and from the next reveal on you show up in each other’s. So when your sister joins on your invite, everyone else in your circle can connect with her for free.
