Questions to ask your friends. These are the ones we sent.
Twice a week, one question goes to everyone in Looped at the same minute. Somebody writes it by hand, and the whole network answers before anyone can see a reply. This is the full list so far, sorted by what you’d use it for. Steal freely.
14 questions and counting, the latest sent Sep 9, 2026. New ones land Sunday and Wednesday at 8:00 AM Eastern. If you’d rather they arrived than come back here, the waitlist is one field.
Fun questions to ask friends
The low-stakes ones. Nobody has to think hard, and the answers still tell you something. These went out to the whole network exactly as written.
What is your favorite app or mobile game to kill 5 minutes?
Question 2 · sent Jul 27, 2026 · The Time-Killer
What is a cheesy or nerdy movie, or show you enjoy?
Question 7 · sent Aug 16, 2026 · Time-Killer
What is one TV show or movie you can rewatch endlessly without getting bored?
Everyone answers this one first · The Comfort Watch
- What are some fun questions to ask friends?
- Ask about the thing they reach for without thinking. The app they open to kill five minutes. The cheesy movie they'll defend. The show they've rewatched so many times it's background noise. Those answers are easy to give, and they're the ones people argue about happily for twenty minutes.
- What makes a question fun instead of awkward?
- A fun question has an answer nobody is embarrassed to give. 'What's your deepest fear' stalls a group chat. 'What's the nerdiest show you love anyway' gets six replies in a minute. Looped sends the second kind, and the answers come back with a reason attached, which is where the fun is.

Questions to ask your best friend
You already know their coffee order. These go one layer under that: the book they keep giving away, the routine they won't skip, the thing that kept them showing up.
What is one book you've recommended or gifted to people the most?
Question 12 · sent Sep 2, 2026 · Media Library
What is one podcast episode or series you recommend to almost everyone?
Question 4 · sent Aug 5, 2026 · Media Library
What’s one thing in your daily routine you never miss out on?
Question 6 · sent Aug 12, 2026 · Self-Improvement
What piece of workout gear, apparel, or app actually kept you consistent?
Question 14 · sent Sep 9, 2026 · Self-Improvement
- What are good questions to ask your best friend?
- Skip the ones you can already answer for them. Ask which book they've gifted the most, which podcast they send to everyone, what part of their routine they refuse to miss. You'll learn something, and you'll get a recommendation you can use, from the one person whose taste you trust.
- How do you keep learning new things about a best friend?
- Ask on a schedule, not when you happen to think of it. That's the whole idea behind Looped: the same question goes to everyone twice a week, and you answer before you see theirs. After a month you know what your best friend reads, cooks and swears by, without either of you scheduling a call.

Questions for getting to know someone
Not the job interview kind. The objects somebody carries every day say more than where they grew up, and they're a lot easier to answer.
What is your favorite water bottle, travel mug, or daily drink container?
Question 1 · sent Jul 20, 2026 · The Hydration Station
What is one cheap thing on your desk or workspace that you use every single day?
Question 3 · sent Aug 2, 2026 · Workspace
What is the most comfortable pair of shoes or sneakers you currently own?
Question 5 · sent Aug 9, 2026 · Apparel
What is the best gadget, accessory, or organizer in your car?
Question 13 · sent Sep 6, 2026 · Travel & Outdoor Gear
- What are good questions for getting to know someone?
- Ask about the stuff they use every day. The water bottle they carry, the cheap thing on their desk they'd replace within the hour, the shoes they wore out and bought again. Nobody has to open up on cue. They just describe their life, and you learn what they value without asking that directly.
- Are icebreaker questions and getting-to-know-you questions the same thing?
- Close, but an icebreaker only has to fill thirty seconds. A getting-to-know-you question should leave you with something you remember next week. 'Two truths and a lie' does the first job. 'What is the best gadget in your car' does the second, because a month later you'll still remember what they keep back there.

Questions for long-distance friends
The ones you can answer from anywhere, about things that fit in a box. Joel built Looped after moving to Colorado and losing track of his friends in Florida, so this section is the reason the site exists.
What is an obscure utility or productivity app on your phone or computer that feels like a superpower?
Question 11 · sent Aug 30, 2026 · Workspace
What is the best travel accessory or packing item you own?
Question 9 · sent Aug 23, 2026 · Travel & Outdoor Gear
What is an obscure or hyper-specific grocery snack you swear by?
Everyone answers this one first · The Cart Staple
What is a small purchase (under $50) that surprisingly improved your daily routine?
Everyone answers this one first · The Life Upgrade
- What are good questions to ask a long-distance friend?
- Ask about things that travel. The obscure snack they swear by, the app that feels like a superpower, the one travel item they'd never pack without. Those answers work from two time zones away, and half of them can be mailed. A question about their week goes stale by Friday. A question about their favorite snack doesn't.
- How do you stay in touch with friends who moved away?
- Pick something that happens on a clock, so nobody has to be the one who reaches out. Looped sends everyone the same question Sunday and Wednesday morning, and the answers open at once. Nobody is checking in on anybody. You just find out what your friend in another state is into now, twice a week.

Questions to ask family
Family is where recommendations already flow, mostly unasked. These give the flow a shape: a kitchen tool, a scent, the small thing your mom has been right about for years.
What is one kitchen tool under $30 that punches way above its weight?
Question 8 · sent Aug 19, 2026 · Kitchen
What is your favorite soap, candle, or cologne/perfume scent?
Question 10 · sent Aug 26, 2026 · Apparel
- What are good questions to ask family members?
- Ask about the house. The kitchen tool under thirty dollars that does more than it should, the candle or soap somebody has bought on repeat for a decade. Family already has opinions on all of this. Asking out loud is how the good ones get written down instead of staying in one person's head.
- Can a family use Looped together?
- Yes, and that's how it started: Joel's family and a handful of close friends, ten invites each. Everyone gets the same question, everyone answers before seeing the others, and the reveal opens for all of you at once. It's a group chat that only fires twice a week and never buries a good answer.
